![]() ![]() Microsoft has made several huge moves towards the future of remote work in recent weeks, and such a productivity and flexibility-friendly tool is another step forward for users of online collaboration tools everywhere.īut sometimes we all want a bit of peace, whether that's to get some work done, or just to escape from the barrage of notifications and noises that plague our working lives - so hopefully there's some leeway in how this feature will work. It's somewhat surprising that Microsoft Teams has taken so long to introduce such a feature, as setting your working location and hours has been present in Google Workspace for some time.Īs someone who uses both services regularly for work purposes, knowing exactly where my boss or colleagues are is incredibly useful - for nothing else than making sure my virtual Teams background is set up properly. Upon release, Microsoft says the feature will be available to users across Android, Mac, iOS and Desktop - meaning there really could be no escape from meetings going forward. Other than those problems, I had a good morning. In its entry on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the update is listed as being "in development" for the time being, but has an expected rollout start date of May 2025, meaning users may not have too long to wait. In all, only reformat and reinstall windows worked. A friend gave ma a list of reg fixes - he said works. My advice: learn to live without IE, or find another fix. Finally used LINUX to repartition the drive. Tried to reinstall windows from image - it hung. I figured out a way around the "download my crapware or else" screen, downloaded the file, ran the script. Then windows ran, but IE still didn't run. ![]() So I ran chkdsk - it found a trashed filesystem - which I had it fix. I rebooted - with only the usual windows startup stuff. Trying to download the script I got to a screen that forced me to accept a download for ilivid (?) or reboot. In desperation I decided to try "the script." In order to proceed, either click the above link to download a tool that will clean up your IE settinsg, OR run the tool from your machine (yeah, the tool should already be installed on your machine):ġ) Open the Internet Options applet from the control panelĤ) Make sure the "Delete personal settings" box is ticked and press OK.ĥ) Try running IE again and see if that fixed it. After all, the problem you are having might be caused by an add-on that causes IE to crash or something. So the first solution is to reset Internet Explorer to its default settings. Note: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. That's exactly what happens here, except their solutions had no effect for me. Type Inetcpl.cpl ( to open Internet properties) Go to Advance tab in Internet Properties. The problem is perfectly described on a support page entitled " Internet Explorer opens, flashes, and then closes immediately when you start it". Read on for a detailed description of each of these three solutions. Solution 3: running a script that cleans your registry and re-registers missing DLLs. ![]()
